Name:  Jori Journigan

Education:  Bachelor of Science in Business/Economics, with a specialization in Business Administration, from Eastern Oregon University

Job Title:  High School Business Teacher, FBLA and Yearbook Advisor

Length of time you have taught:

This is my first year teaching in my own classroom.  I spent the last two years working as a Substitute Teacher at Wallowa School District.

Description of Classes:

  • Introductory Business – This class is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of business through projects, simulations and hands-on experience designing and running a school store.  Students will develop college and career-readiness skills and explore career options in business.
  • Business Computer Applications – Students will learn to use Microsoft Office and Google applications to format business documents and complete projects. We will create flyers and brochures for school events, programs for sporting events, a monthly newsletter and the yearbook.
  • Jr. High Keyboarding – The primary goal of this class is to help students learn to type accurately and efficiently.  We will also cover basic computer skills, formatting documents and essential study skills for high school (ie. organization, time management, note-taking, preparing for tests).

What you like best:

Wallowa is a special place to live and work.  The community is close-knit and many people support and care about our school.  The teaching staff invest a great deal of time and energy to help our students succeed – I’m excited to be a part of those efforts this year!

Hobby or something fun:

I love my family, our old farmhouse, chai tea and dark chocolate…in that order!
