Mrs. Roberts has been with the Wallowa School District since 1998 during which time she has taught 5th and 6th grade, and is currently the Title I Coordinator/Reading Specialist.  She received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Eastern Oregon College, then, because of special circumstances, Nancy decided to substitute teach instead of seeking full-time employment.  From 1996 to 1998, she was a 7th and 8th grade teacher at Joseph Middle School. In 1998 she was hired at Wallowa, and a few years later received her reading endorsement through Read Oregon and Eastern Oregon University. It was then that she moved into Title I.

Mrs. Roberts grew up in Lostine, Oregon, went to school at the Lostine school through her eighth grade. At that time the Wallowa and Lostine school districts consolidated, and Nancy attended high school at Wallowa.  While she was attending college, she married John Roberts (who grew up in Wallowa and graduated from Wallowa High School).  They lived in Wallowa, then moved to Joseph when John gained employment at the Boise Cascade mill in Joseph.  They raised four children there.
